Beach Day & Bike Ride (Adam & Jim)
Join all of your troop friends for a day and evening at the beach. Some will drive, some will ride bikes, all will have fun!
Those who are interested will start at The Pond in Anaheim and ride the Santa Ana River Trail to Huntington Beach.
We will gather at Huntington Beach for play, a burger and dog BBQ, and s'mores. Bring the whole family.
Register for both the ride and the BBQ online.

Corn Springs
|
Campout at Corn Springs, a BLM campground in the desert about 40 miles this side of Arizona border.
The Corn Springs Campground is located deep in a canyon of the Chuckwalla Mountains.
Situated adjacent to a stand of California fan palms, this oasis supports abundant wildlife
and is an important stopping place for migratory birds.
Corn Springs was a major occupation site of prehistoric Native American Indian groups.
Each scout will be given a model rocket kit to build during two scout meetings prior to the campout.
Rockets will then be launched during the campout.

Service project to help setup and tear down for the FestivArts at Padua Hills (JKM).
This event is put on by the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art.
We help setup tables and chairs, art displays, umbrellas, etc in the morning before
the event starts and then help put it all away in the afternoon when it is over.
We will be working with scouts from other Claremont troops to get the work done.

San Gabriel River Trail
|
30 mile bike ride from Azusa Canyon to Whittier Narrows.
The ride is on the San Gabriel River Trail, which is closed to motor vehicles.
We will ride 15 miles, losing 700 feet of elevation, then have lunch at the Whittier Narrows Nature Center.
After lunch, we will ride back to Azusa. Lunch will be provided.
Helmet, spare inner-tube and water bottle are required for the ride.

Scout Sunday (JKM).
All scouts are expected to attend to show support and thanks to our sponsoring church.
We will attend the 10am service as a group in full, neat, dress Class A uniform.
We will all act as ushers and greeters before the service and some of us will participate as acolytes,
readers, musicians, and leading the Children's Celebration.
We are hosting the "coffee" after the service so plan to stay until about 11:30.

Mountain camping located in Angelus Oaks, thirty-six miles northeast of San Bernardino.
The level campsites are tucked among a variety of pine and oak trees, at an elevation of 6,360 feet.
There are flush toilets, showers, drinkable water, campfire rings, and picnic tables.
Bear boxes are available at each campsite for food storage.
