Wear your full Class A uniform.  Let's start this year looking sharp!
This will be an important information sharing time for everyone planning to be involved in Troop 407 during this coming year.
All Scouts must bring: 
  • At least one parent, preferably both.
  • $210 annual dues: make checks to "Troop 407, BSA" or pay through the event on  TroopTrack.
  • Any changed information for your Scout Profile. Please update TroopTrack online and make sure that all information in your profile is complete.
  • If you did not attend summer camp with us this year, a new complete Annual Health and Medical Record.
Saturday 9/9
9am - 9pm 		Huntington Beach Beach Day & Bike Ride (Mark)
Join all of your troop friends for a day and evening at the beach. Some will drive, some will ride bikes, all will have fun! Those who are interested will start at The Pond in Anaheim and ride the Santa Ana River Trail to Huntington Beach. We will gather at Huntington Beach for play, a burger and dog BBQ, and s'mores. Bring the whole family. Register for the BBQ online. We need committment from some parents to go early and claim a fire pit and some to make the food happen.

Sunday 10/22 3pm 		Joshua Tree NP This will be a short (2.5 mile) and mostly level beginning backpack trip to a primitive (no facilities) camp in "The Maze" surrounded by Joshua Tree's famous "velcro" rocks. We will leave Saturday morning and return Sunday afternoon. Backpack cooking by patrol.

Saturday 1/13
8:30am - 1:00pm 		Barrett Stoddard Truck Trail Stoddard Peak Hike.
Easy hike of 6 miles, 1200 feet of climbing in roughly 4 hours. Mostly dirt roads with some mild bushwhacking. The Stoddard waterfall on San Antonio Creek includes an old paved road and a small scramble, which we may visit after hiking to the peak depending on water flow.

This is a great car-camping trip featuring patrol cooking, rock scrambling, orienteering, and plenty of time for advancement.

Since the church basement is under renovation, we are going bowling.
Please join us at Chaparral Lanes, 400 W Bonita Ave, San Dimas CA 91773 (909-592-2772).
The troop is covering the cost of the lanes. Just bring $5 to rent your bowling shoes. Check in at 7:00. Lanes will be open 7:30 - 8:30.

Sunday 2/18 4:00pm 		Corn Springs Campout at Corn Springs, a BLM campground in the desert about 40 miles this side of Arizona border.
The Corn Springs Campground is located deep in a canyon of the Chuckwalla Mountains. Situated adjacent to a stand of California fan palms, this oasis supports abundant wildlife and is an important stopping place for migratory birds. Corn Springs was a major occupation site of prehistoric Native American Indian groups.
Each scout will be given a model rocket kit to build during two scout meetings prior to the campout. Rockets will then be launched during the campout.

Sanctuary 		Scout Sunday (JKM).  All scouts are expected to attend to show support and thanks to our sponsoring church.
We will attend the 10am service as a group in full, neat, dress Class A uniform. We will all act as ushers and greeters before the service and some of us will participate as acolytes, readers, musicians, and leading the Children's Celebration. We are hosting the "coffee" after the service so plan to stay until about 11:30.
