Wear your full Class A uniform.  Let's start this year looking sharp!
This will be an important information sharing time for everyone planning to be involved in Troop 407 during this coming year.
All Scouts must bring: 
  • At least one parent, preferably both.
  • $192 annual dues: make checks to "Troop 407, BSA" or pay through the Online Store.
  • Updated Scout Profile information forms which were sent to you in the mail.  Please provide us with all of the requested information.  Many forms that we must file with the Council throughout the year require this information and it is much easier to collect it all now.  Legible entries in a brightly colored pen will greatly ease data entry.
  • If you did not attend summer camp with us, a new complete Annual Health and Medical Record.

Join all of your troop friends for a day and evening at the beach. Some will drive, some will ride bikes, all will have fun! Those who are interested will start at The Pond in Anaheim and ride the Santa Ana River Trail to Huntington Beach. We will gather at Huntington Beach for play, a burger and dog BBQ, and s'mores. Bring the whole family. Register for the BBQ online. We need committment from some parents to go early and claim a fire pit and some to make the food happen.

Joshua Tree 		This will be a short (1.5 mile) and level beginning backpack trip to a primitive (no facilities) and beautiful small valley surrounded by Joshua Tree's famous "velcro" rocks. Philmont Crew and others interested in a longer hike will start at another trailhead for a 9 mile trip. We will leave Saturday morning and return Sunday afternoon. Backpack cooking by patrol.

5:15pm - 8:30pm 		Meet at CUCC Evening Hike. (John Hill)
On Tuesday instead of the normal troop meeting, we will hike in the Cobal side of the Claremont Loop and hike out through Johnson Pasture. This is a one way hike and we will need parents to help shuttle scouts.
Please meet at CUCC at 5:15. Then we will shuttle up to the Claremont Loop parking (north end of Mills Ave). We should complete the hike around 8:15 and ask non-hiking parents to help shuttle scouts back to CUCC. Shuttle drivers pick up at the far north end of Mountain Ave.
This is a moderate hike of 4.5 miles and 950 ft of elevation gain. Wear Class B (red shirt) uniform. Bring water and the other 10 essentials. Keep in mind that there are several requirements that can be worked on during this hike, including 2nd Class items 3 a,b,c, if you are prepared.
